All plywood base saddles include a new curved plywood inner base, which is covered top and bottom with leather, except several rare models where a fiberglass molded base is supplied, at same price. Where applicable, these include epoxied-in bolts . Extremely few original bases are re-usable, due to delamination caused by the fact that marine waterproof glues were not then available.
This pricelist is based on using your saddle parts. Prices above are based on parts being repaired, straightened, cleaned, and painted before sending to us for recovering. We can do this work but there will be
additional charges based on how much time we have to put into doing this work.
Shipping and handling charges are in addition to the above prices. Unless specified otherwise, all domestic shipments use U.S.Postal Priority Mail Service.Which usally gives 2 to 3 day delivery and more careful package handling.Shipping prices will vary depending on Size and weight of finished saddle. Please inquire for cost of shipping. On foreign shipments air delivery is used.
Domestic payments are by check or Postal money order or Pay Pal. Please make checks out to "Jethro Smith"
International payments should be by Direct Wire Transfer. Please email us and we can provide the routing and account numbers that your bank will need to make a wire transfer.
Top grain grade A leather used. I use brown, or black alcohol-based dyes. This leaves a durable finish that won't flake off like leather paint. Hand stitching with nylon thread. Professionally engraved metal plates used for logo impressions.
Die cut vent holes. Nickeled, coppered, O.D., or black oxide plated rivets are used. No work done with vinyl, plastics or rubber. Real hair padding is no longer available. We use a synthetic fiber padding in place of the original hair padding which is more durable and feels just like the original..
